Paul's oldest son Gabe, now back and living in Woodstock, has formed a band that does most of the repertoire of the original Paul Butterfield bands. This quintet is the core group that sometimes expands to feature Jimmy Vivino, Steve Guyger and others. Gabe, who has toured with Sonny Rhodes, Joey Gillmore, Charlie Musselwhite and Little Sammy Davis, is on drums and vocals. Lead vocalist Rob Paparozzi is also one of the premier harmonica players in the music business, known internationally for his work with Doctor John, B.B. King, and his 7 years fronting Blood Sweat & Tears. Currently, Rob is the lead singer with the Original Blues Brothers Band. Ubiquitous lead singer/guitarist Jimmy Eppard has been a Woodstock fixture for decades, having played with Levon Helm, Bobby Ray Bishop, The Band, and Crawdaddy. Woodstock Bassist Jim Curtin likewise is known for his Jazz vocal stylings with many area artists, including Betty MacDonald, Orleans and Vicki Russell. Keyboardist Pete Levin is from the Jazz and Pop worlds, having played with Gil Evans, Paul Simon, Annie Lennox, Joe Louis Walker and Jaco Pastorius.
For this one night, the band's special guest is Woodstock legend, Kal David. Chicago bred, Kal is known for his hit recordings with the Fabulous Rhinestones. Since then, having worked with Etta James, Johnny Rivers and John Mayall, he has become one of the most respected Blues guitarists and vocalists in the country. The group will be doing some of Kal's Rhinestones hits, including a couple that Paul Butterfield played harp on. This is a one-time-only show - not to be missed.
