The "Monday Night Live" series at the Bearsville Theater presents Katrin Roush/Daydreamers!! Though there's no cover charge, an optional monetary donation will always be appreciated. All procedes will go to the band.
Katrin Roush is a self taught and self made artist. Her music is soulful and powerful, yet she expresses both vulnerability and presense in her performances. She made a start from busking on the Boston streets, all the way to opening for artists such as Joan Armatrading and Chris Isaak, touring Europe and recording with world class musicians such as drummer Jerry Marotta, Tony Levin and John Sebastian. Jerry Marotta, a long time Woodstock resident best known for his work with Peter Gabriel, Hall & Oates and Indigo Girls, produced Katrin's new cd entitled "Frail to Fearless", recorded at Dreamland and Jersville. Katrin holds true to the authentic in her recordings and performances. Backed by her band or playing solo acoustic, Katrin's voice will send shivers down your spine. "Katrin Roush has a soaring, electrifying voice reminiscent of Bonnie Raitt. Thick and resonating with body and soul, Katrin sings with the passion of a woman using her last breath on earth" Douglas Sloan, Metronome Magazine
Her style is somewhat reminiscent to Suzanne Vega, but with a slightly rougher edge. She delivers, through her songs, intimate images and reflections taken from her own personal life... She has chosen the acoustic guitar to musically express her emotions. Those exquisite tonalities are gracing every single composition, to my selfish pleasure, of course. **** four out of four stars " - Denis Brunelle, Sea of Tranquility (Apr 02, 2012)
The Daydreamers ~ “A classic pop/rock band. The Daydreamers sound wise beyond their years. With songs that are often lush, harmony-laden mini-epics, its obvious they have a vision and direction, and a musical sensibility larger than themselves." And, “The Daydreamers are an original hybrid of ‘beach-grunge’”.
The Daydreamers were founded a year ago in the Rock soup of Woodstock New York, (yes we know the actual concert wasn’t here), by twin brothers Wyatt (lead vocals, guitars) and Aaron (lead guitars) Mones and bass player Ben Chrobot, the Daydreamers have recently added Tim Poll (keyboards) and Dave Kolbinski (drums) to the band.
The Daydreamers are just finishing up their first LP “With Your Love” and are about to embark upon their first tour this summer of the Northeast and beyond.
Aaron and Wyatt Mones learned how to play guitar in seventh grade and immediately formed their first band. At thirteen they quickly became local favorites. At fourteen and fifteen they were playing the late and legendary CBGB’s and The Knitting Factory in Manhattan. But even with all this early promise and success the Mones brothers were not satisfied. To them, it has always been about the Music. The easier, shorter, handsome, brother boy-band Path was not for them. They are always about pushing further.
Bass Player Ben Chrobot joined the Band when they were sixteen. A boy wonder who added a solid bottom to the band, Ben is now also plying his trade at MIT during the school year.
Finally, in 2012, The Daydreamers rounded out the band with drummer Dave Kolbinski and pianist/long time friend, Tim Poll.
Now, under the mentorship of World Class drummer Jerry Marotta, The Daydreamers are about to make their move. With their LP being pressed (copied?) and the amps being loaded in the vehicles, the boys are ready to explode. 2012, what a ‘year’ for The Daydreamers.
