New York State Blues Hall Of Fame inductee Murali Coryell teams up with young Blues Phenom “Mojo” Myles Mancuso for an evening of a vocal rich, hook laden tunes and guitar based, Roots Rock grooves that will have your head moving and feet tapping. Joining them will be Dorian Randolph on Drums & Vince Leggiere on Bass.
Murali Coryell Biography
Murali Coryell is a triple threat contemporary blues artist who can sing, write and play guitar with the best in the business. As the son of guitar legend Larry Coryell, Murali grew up around the likes of Jimi Hendrix, Miles Davis, & Carlos Santana. In 1995, Murali joined Duke Robillard’s touring band and was quickly signed as a solo artist resulting in the stax/volt influenced “Eyes Wide Open”. I...n 1999 Murali recorded “2120” for Marshall Chess in which Rolling Stone named Murali “One promising new hound”. Over the years Murali has toured with father Larry Coryell and Joe Louis Walker as a featured artist and appeared many times as supporting act for B.B. King. "Murali’s latest studio recording resulted in the CD "Sugar Lips" which reached # 5 in 2010 on the Living Blues Radio Chart was recorded in Nashville with Tom Hambridge producer of Buddy Guy’s latest Grammy winner. Featuring special guest stars Joe Louis Walker and Larry Coryell, Cortney Harding of Billboard called it “one sweet triptych across the musical map”. The CD received rave reviews in Living Blues and Elmore Magazines and also resulted in a Murali Coryell feature in Guitar Player Magazine. Myles Mancuso Bio
At the age of nine Myles was affectionately referred to as "Mojo" in a newspaper article about him. Now 17 years old Myles Mancuso is a nationally recognized prodigy who fronts his own band, singing and playing Guitar and Keyboards. Noted by True Fire as one of the Top 10 Guitar Prodigies in the World, Myles has been preforming professionally for audiences since the age of 10.
Myles' story was recently nominated for a 2012 Emmy and won a 2012 Cable Telly Award. In 2012 he was awarded for his outstanding musicianship at the Berklee College of Music in Boston Ma.. His band has performed at festivals such as Mountain Jam, The Sarasota Blues Fest and The NY State Blues Fest and Gathering of the Vibes in 2012.
He has performed on some of the top stages in New York City… BB Kings in Times Square, The Cutting Room, Tera Blues, The Iridium Jazz Club, The Bitter End, Kenny's Castaways and others. His band has opened for major National acts Such as Levon Helm, Buddy Guy and Derek Trucks. He continues to perform to large audiences at Music Clubs, Gala Events, Festivals and other venues.
Sid Bernstein (best known as the promoter who brought Beatles to America) said in an interview while promoting a show that featured Myles in NYC; "Myles is a Bona Fide Prodigy that will Thrill and Captivate an Audience". Les Paul (Guitar Legend) said after playing with Myles at the Iridium Jazz Club in Times Square, "He reminds me of Myself when I was a Young Boy". His show transcends age and musical preferences, described as “Rockin’ Rhythm & Soul”…an updated Funk/Rock twist on a traditional American sound.
