Tonight, Jackie Greene – singer/songwriter, guitar/keyboard/harmonica/& mandolin player, and an electrifying band leader will highlight selections from the new album,"Till The Light Comes", just released 7/26/10, produced by Tim Bluhm and Jackie Greene in San Francisco. It was engineered and mixed by Dave Simon-Baker. And.. some of the cover and booklet drawings are done by Jackie. He says, "We had a really great time making the record, and took our time getting things right, figuring out the best parts and what-not. I think a lot of that labor shines through. "Anyways, I hope you like it". This is his 6th CD.
“Ultimately,” he says, “My hope is that these songs will someday ignore their creator and tell their tales all by themselves.”
His first album with DIG, Gone Wanderin', won the California Music Award for the Best Blues/Roots Album in 2003. in 2005 his song "I Will Never Let Go" was used in the soundtrack for the movie "Brokeback Mountain".
"I Don't Live in a Dream", was featured on episodes of the NBC television series, "Life" in November 2008 and ABC's "Private Practice" in March 2009.
He has toured nationally with, Phil Lesh and Friends, Gov't Mule, B.B. King, Phil Lesh, Ratdog, Huey Lewis, Susan Tedeschi, Taj Mahal, and Buddy Guy, and has played most major U.S. festivals, including All Good, Gathering of the Vibes, Mountain Jam, Grateful Garcia Gathering, Newport Jazz, Newport Folk, South by Southwest, Wakarusa, Winnipeg Folk, Bonnaroo, Outside Lands, and Rothbury..
