NY based group The Five Points Band take their name and inspiration from the Five Points neighborhood in NYC where the band was formed in 1997. Their music is texture and insight into a world not always filled with happy endings, where outlaws can be heroes, where oddities are welcomed and monsters are appreciated.
The members of the Five Points Band are a family:
Robin the Hammer (patriarch) - guitar, vocals
Miss Acacia (daugther of Robin) - bass, vocals
Jbird Borwman (husband to Miss Acacia) - drums, vocals
The Five Points Band's sound is dirty Rock with spooky American undertones and has been called "Heavy Gothic Americana".
The band has played the NY scene, toured the American south, and played several European festivals including repeat appearances at the Cannabis Cup in Amsterdam, the Lillehammer Blues Festivals, and the Romerike Rock & Roots Festival. They have also toured with Shannon McNally.
The Five Points Band's new album "Ida the Spider and the American Dream" is chock full of things that go bump in the night.
